Getting to Know You

1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body? I’ve always liked a good soccer body!

2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator? Kind of a mix of both! I like to plan about 75% of my life, but sometimes…I like to just throw things to the wind!  

3. Diet or regular (soda)? I don’t drink soda. Bad for your teeth and your body.

4. What’s your one “must have” for Fall? Boots and coats!

5. What’s your favorite fast food restaurant? I don’t eat fast food, either. Haven’t had any in years – though, I used to love Jack in the Box. Spicy chicken sandwiches (no mayo) and curly fries.

6. What do you think is the sexiest profession for a guy? IT Manager, husband and father. OMG TIM!

7. Did you wear braces? No, and I think I could’ve used them. Oh, well.

8. Would you rather have a guy that’s super sexy or kind? I think kindness is a sexy quality, but unfortunately, there are sexy people that are not very kind.

Getting to Know You!

1. Do you think mustaches are sexy? No, definitely not.

2. What’s the last concert you’ve been to? Hmm…I think it was John Legend at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley

3  What was your favorite 80′s sitcom? I liked Roseanne, Alf, Family Ties, and Growing Pains when I was growing up.

4. Were you named after anyone?  No, I was named after the Beatles song, ‘Michelle’.

5. When you buy new clothes, do you wash before wearing? Only Marco’s clothes.

6. If you didn’t blog, what would you do with your spare time? Any spare time I have that isn’t spent with Marco, is when I read, take pictures, blog and clean.  If I took out blogging, I’d just have more time for the other activities.

7. What is your favorite department store? Nordstrom!

8. If  you were to get Laser Hair Removal..where would you get it? Umm, it would be nice not to have to shave my armpits or legs. Bikini area is just too sensitive! No way I’d let anyone near it with a laser.

 1. What do you look forward to the most on the 4th of July? I love getting together with the Gomer family! It’s a new tradition to spend it with them. Last year, Belle was a teensy little thing; this year, she was walking around, helping me put the mustard away.

2. Are you a hugger? Yes!! I love giving hugs to people, but only if I like you.

3. What is your favorite BBQ’d food?  I love grilled veggies. We have a grill basket, and I fill it with red onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms. Toss lightly with olive oil and black pepper. Mmmm.

4. Do you like to watch parades? No.

5. I changed this question, because the original question was lame. New question: Who is your favorite author? I have many favorites: Jane Austen, Henry James, Margaret Atwood, Jeffrey Eugenides, John Steinbeck…

6. Vampires or Werewolves? If we’re talking ‘Twilight’, then definitely vampires; the werewolves are funny, but not as cool.

7. Do you read your horoscope? Occasionally, if I am bored.

8. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? I love Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Heath Bar Crunch, but it is terribly high in calories and fat. I try to avoid it, and stick to fruit sorbets.

1.If you had 5000.00 to spend on plastic surgery what would you have done?
I wouldn’t have any plastic surgery, my body is the way it is. But I wouldn’t mind fixing my crooked bottom tooth. The rest of the money I’d use to go shopping, ha ha.

2. Do you watch Soap operas and if so what is your favorite and why?
No.

3. Favorite clothing brand?
Forever21, Joe’s Jeans, Rich & Skinny, H&M and Target.

4. An afternoon shopping spree at your favorite store or maid service for a year?
Hmm. I would love an afternoon to shop at Nordstrom, but I don’t really like cleaning;  it might be more to my advantage to take the maid service.

5. Would you ever vajazzle?
I had to google this to figure out what it was – I keep hearing the term and assumed it had something to do with the below-the-belt area. The answer is HELL NO.

6. Favorite Disney Princess?
Belle, of course!  Dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, raised by a single parent, loves to read… see the pattern here?

7. Last movie that made you bawl your eyes out?
‘Up’, I think.  ‘A Single Man’ did make me cry, but I was definitely bawling during ‘Up’. Those Pixar folks know how to wring out the waterworks.

8. Have you ever broken any bones and if so what?
I have not broken any bones; lots of sprains, though.

Keely’s Questions for the week…

1. If a person has a booger in their nose. and you can see it, do you tell them? Depends on my relationship with them. I would definitely tell Tim.

2. What are you passionate about? Tim and literature.

3. How long have you been blogging? A little over a year. It’s been pretty fun so far!

4. What is your favorite “summer” drink? Water, Jasmine-Lime coolers from Peet’s, Mojitos and Castello di Amorosa’s La Fantasia blend

5. What is your favorite type of music? Most types of rock (alternative, classic, indie…) but I can listen to almost anything.

6. Something I do before I go to bed is……? Brush my teeth

7. My Summer vacation plans are…? I don’t have any vacation plans for the summer

8. My favorite must have, can’t live without, beauty product is? Mascara! My favorite is CoverGirl Waterproof LashBlast in Very Black.

3. If you were a bug, what kind would you be?
The kind that gets squished.

4. Where on your body is the worst place to get sunburned?
The backs of the knees, ouch ouch ouch.

5. Are you happy?
Not particularly at the moment – in too much pain to be happy.

6. People are always abbreviating..are there any abbreviations that make your skin crawl when people use them?
No

7. Do you love where you live..or could you live anywhere?
I love living in California, and I love the Napa Valley. I couldn’t live just anywhere; could possibly tolerate Portland, Oregon. Otherwise I could live in Italy quite easily! It was amazing and I’d move there in a second. 

8. What, if any, extreme measures do you go to to keep yourself from overeating when you’re full?
Sometimes I snack when I am bored, but I don’t go to any extreme measures to stop myself from doing so. If I notice that I go to the kitchen for no reason, I grab some water instead.

9. What is one thing that you truly do just for you?
Read.

10. Are you where you want to be in your life?
No. There are a lot of things I would like to fix/change about myself (mostly to do with the way I view other people, situations, etc.). The only thing that is exactly how I’d like it to be is my relationship with Tim, and I am working hard to make sure that a baby won’t mess any of it up.

11. If you could be on any reality TV show, which would it be?
How about ‘You’re Normal, Nice and Smart; Here’s 5k to shop In New York!’ ? Is that a show, or can we make it one?

12.What dream are you working on right now?
The dream of making it through this pregnancy.

13. The Best book you have read lately?
Finished The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton; it was pretty darn good.

14. Most annoying habit of your mate? C’mon share…I’m sure they aren’t looking.
Tim leaves every cabinet, cupboard and drawer open, no matter how often I remind him to close/shut them. Leaves socks everywhere.

15. What is your favorite thing to do on your birthday?
Shop, dress up and eat cupcakes!

16. What is the best idea for a Wedding gift?
I like to give one item from their registry and something that I find that matches their personalities; people usually just want money, though. I don’t like to give money if I can avoid it. It feels impersonal.

17. What is one thing you look back on in your life and think “I can’t believe I survived that.”
If I make it out of this pregnancy alive, then this will be on the top of my list.

The questions..

1. What has been your most memorable Mother’s Day? (with your mom, as a mom, or with your wife) I suppose this year! It was our 7 year anniversary, as well as Mother’s Day. I’ll post more about it later.

2. Have you ever been pulled over for speeding and were you able to talk your way out of it?  I have been pulled over for speeding once, and I didn’t even try to talk my way out of it. I was in a horrible mood already, and didn’t want to waste my energy.

3. What’s the oldest thing you have hanging in your closet? A lovely skirt that was designed and tailored especially for me; the silk was from a circa-1950′s gown.

4. Do you whiten your teeth? I’ve used the Crest Whitestrips a few times over the years, and use a whitening toothpaste.

5. Underwear or Panties..What do you call your “unmentionables”? Underwear

6. If you could go on vacation right now..today..where would you go? London, Brussels and Paris! Tim and I have had our eyes on Belgium for awhile now, and are anxious to visit for ourselves!

7. Do you get offended when people cuss on their blogs? I am not offended, but I try not to on my own blog. It isn’t lady-like.

8. If you had to give up one luxury item, it would be….? That’s very subjective; something I consider a luxury may be considered a staple by someone else! I guess I could give up television, I watch so few shows as it is, and there’s always Hulu! I just hate waiting the 8 days (or however many it is) before an episode is available online.  

The questions..

1. Are you superstitious? There are some silly things that I do, I guess: I keep my fingers crossed when I drive by a cemetery, I try not to walk under ladders (though that’s just common sense – what if it collapses!?), and if I spill salt then I throw it over my left shoulder. But, I don’t worry about black cats (in fact, my next cat will either be all black or a ginger) and I would never carry around a rabbit’s foot.

2. If you were an animal..what kind would you be? I have no idea which animal I’d most likely be, but the animal I’d most LIKE to be would be a housecat; namely, Stabler. He’s got food, water and all the attention and belly rubs he wants. He’s got toys (OMG boxes!) and can spend a good hour tracking a fly like it’s Public Enemy No. 1. Stabler is ridiculously adorable, and is guaranteed a kitty treat or bit of milk if he hops into my arms like he’s hugging me, and purrs loudly.

3. You would never catch me wearing………? Ugg boots or sweatpants (yoga pants around the house, sure. Actual sweatpants?! Eww), a skirt with ankle leggings (too 80′s), ‘Mom’ jeans. Basically, you’ll never catch me in anything ugly.

4. If someone posts a VLOG..do you watch it? If it’s a blogger that I follow, and the topic is interesting.

5. Have you ever waxed your girlie/manly parts..or any other part of your body? Eyebrows and lady parts. The last is too painful.

6. Are you a spender or a saver? I suppose I’m a spender. I’m not great at saving money for a rainy day, but I am good at keeping costs down while I spend – using coupons, discount cards, and shopping around to find a better price on things I need.

7. If you were starring in a movie..who would you want to play your leading man/woman? Hugh Laurie, because he’s a fantastic talent (and I adore him); or Taye Diggs, because he’s delicious, like Mmmmm. If it was to be a woman, I’d want Cate Blanchett, because she’s so beautiful I could cry.

8. Smoker..never smoked..social smoker..or smoked back in the day? Tried a cigarette once. Coughed. End of smoking relationship.

The questions..

1. Mens chests..hairy or hairless?
I don’t like hairy chests or backs.  

2. How often do you run red lights?
Three times since I got my license, and all by accident. Luckily for me, none of these traffic lights had a camera attached.

3. If you could raid any celebrity’s closet..whose would you raid?
Sarah Jessica Parker’s, of course!

4. Would you rather have more followers/friends on Facebook, Twitter, or your Blog?
My blog! I love having readers, it’s so much fun to see the numbers climbing everyday!

5. What makes you feel sexy?
When I’m having an interesting conversation, if I get through all of my talking points, and come out feeling intelligent and witty – then I feel VERY sexy.  In addition, Tim does a pretty darn good job, but high heels and a dab of perfume on the backs of my knees help.

6. I get excited when………..?
Well there’s a can of worms for you! I get excited over all kinds of things. Like, if I find a used book in good condition, or a beautiful pair of shoes. A visit with a friend. New episodes of ‘House’. A new recipe turning out perfectly. Walking the cobblestone streets in Italy. Dinner at a favorite restaurant. Strawberries coming back in season.

7. Are you the “outdoorsy” type or more “indoorsy”?
‘Indoorsy’. I like to read outside, and the occasional hike can be fun;  but I don’t like camping and I’d prefer to be in a temperature-controlled environment.

8. Would you rather have your dream home or a million dollars?
Toughie! I suppose the money; with that amount we could finish our house and make it exactly how we want it, and then funnel the rest into a college account for Marco and a travel savings for all of us.

Keely’s questions for this week are:

1. What color do you wear the most?
Hmm. I seem to see a lot of blue and grey in my wardrobe!

2. Would you rather have $10,000 dollars or a dream vacation?
I would rather have $10,000 because I could spend about half of that on my dream vacation with Tim! Our 2-week trip in Italy cost only $6000, all told (flights, food, train tickets, hotels, etc.). The rest I would put in savings.

3. Do you have a weird, quirky or unusual habit?
I probably have a lot of weird/quirky/unusual habits, but I just don’t notice them! I guess it might be weird that I use 2 different toothbrushes every day. In the mornings I use a Spinbrush but before I go to bed I use a little travel-size brush. I don’t know why, I just do.

4. I really need to start……….?

5. What was the first blog you ever read?
I think the first one I ever started reading with interest was Heather Armstrong’s

6. Do you collect anything? 
Books and shoes, of course!!

7. How old were you when you had your first kiss?
First REAL kiss occurred when I was 15; before that, just a few pecks on the lips.

8. Do you text/twitter while driving?
I don’t twitter while driving, but I have texted a few times while driving. I do try to wait for stop lights and/or signs whenever possible. It’s terrible, I know! I don’t talk on the phone while driving without my headset, though!
