3 Weeks!

My birthday is just 3 short weeks away, and I need to start planning! What do I want to do??

Because the 14th falls on a Tuesday (lame), I have the option of celebrating the Saturday before, or the Saturday after.  I kind of feel odd about celebrating my birthday on September 11th, so I am thinking that the 18th might be better.

Where should my birthday dinner be held?

More importantly…what should I wear?!  Here are some dresses I love from ModCloth:

Of course, I can’t decide on a dress until I figure out where this shindig will be! I’m sure there will be a Forever21 version of the dress dilemma…

    I like 1, 2, 4 & 7! I think my favorite is #7 though :)

As for dinner, do you want a different restaurant, or something you have been to before? What’s the price range, size of your group, genre etc that you are considering? I did a quick yelp search for good group restaurants, and here are my winners:

For Italian, Il Fornai sounds really yummy, perfect for a dress up dinner, and reasonably priced. It’s in the Sainte Claire Hotel in downtown San Jose on Market st, worth a look I think. Another Italian restaurant I have actually been to and liked was Aldo’s Ristorante in Campbell on Winchester. I remember really enjoying my food, and they have a good selection for everyone’s tastes, good ambiance, drinks, and live music sometimes too.

For Asian, I really love Komatsu Japanese Cuisine in Campbell. They have amazing sushi (hello, sweet potato tempura roll!) and those step down booths. My family has done bday parties here before and loved it. Definitely needs a reservation for a group though, and it’s pretty casual, but you can set the tone dress wise! Also, Straits Cafe on Santana Row is awesome for groups and has yummy food. Perfect for a dressy event, with lots of drink and food options to appease anyone. Saturday nights after about 8pm the dance floor gets going and a DJ spins music, so it’s an option if you want to get your groove on after dinner. 3rd option is Kyoto Palace in the Pruneyard, which apparently is great for groups and you have a cook right there doing your meal for entertainment (like -Benni-Hanna). Not sure other than that haha

For Mexican, I like Pedro’s restaurant in Los Gatos. Great atmosphere, pretty good food, you can dress up and not feel out of place, and big enough for groups. Another option is Consuelos or El Jardin on Santana Row. El Jardin is the outdoor tequila bar portion of Consuelos, so they have the same food etc, just different atmospheres. I’ve eaten there before and it’s pretty authentic and has many options. Also El Buro in the Pruneyard is cool, but I haven’t been there in so long I can’t tell you if it suits your needs or not :)

    Hope this helps!!

Oh wow, these are all adorable picks. I love 1 & 5 the most!

You should wear all of them! Run your birthday like a Mariah Carey concert and have eight costume changes. =D (seriously, though, #3 is my favorite)

    What about Opa?

    They are all really cute!
