I thought I heard a donut…

Weekend recap time:

Friday evening I met  Tim at the Cameo Cinema in St. Helena to see ‘An Education’. I was so glad that it was still in theatres! I like Peter Sarsgaard, and was interested to see  Carey Mulligan’s raved-about performance.  Tim and I BOTH enjoyed the movie; it had plenty of humor (the screenplay was written by Nick Hornby) and the acting was great. Check it out if you get a chance!

Saturday, we had some errands to run (boring) and Tim started staining the floors in Marco’s room.  We also painted Marco’s bookcase (a Behr color called Innocence);  even though I plan on having a section devoted to Children’s Literature in my library, I want him to have his own special place for books in his room.  I appropriated this particular shelving unit about 4 years ago from a friend; she’d previously purchased it from Ethan Allen. I had painted it a blue color, and it was in our guest room until we moved here to Napa. At the time, I’d thought it would be nice for a future child, so we were going to keep it covered in the garage until it was necessary.  It turned out to be a lot sooner than I’d previously thought! :P

I don’t think I have a picture of the ‘before’, but here’s the ‘after’:

Timmy decided to make me dinner on Saturday night.  We chopped up tomatoes, red onions, mushrooms, red bell pepper and garlic and I tossed it in some olive oil, fresh pepper and a pinch of salt. Tim threw them into a basket and grilled them for me, along with veggie burgers with cheese. MMMM. I love grilled onions.  We relaxed the rest of the night, catching up on some recorded tv from earlier in the week.

Yesterday was Micaela’s birthday! We drove down to San Jose to spend some time in the afternoon with the birthday girl, and then had a celebratory dinner at her parent’s house.  Monica (my other mom) is a great cook, and everytime I eat at her house I leave stuffed and happy. :) The drive home was pretty miserable; I was having some Braxton Hicks contractions, Marco wouldn’t stop kicking me AND my back was killing me. YUCK! I was relieved to finally get home and lie down in our comfy bed.

Next weekend, I work both Saturday and Sunday, and Tim will be varnishing the floors in Marco’s room. I am so ready for the floor to be finished. Stupid previous owners, ruining the lovely floor! We still need to paint the walls (another Behr color, Opal Silk), and get the crib set up (which arrived today, the box is humongous).

Time is running out! I’ve started my 3rd trimester today… WOWZA!
