Fig
Yesterday I had another appointment with my midwife/NP, Sue. Tim and I were really excited because we were hoping to see more of the baby on the sonogram. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I don’t have to do anymore internal sonograms. She squirted that jelly right onto my tummy and passed it over, and this is what we saw:
My baby was dancing around like crazy! Tim said, “This is so freakin’ cool!” when it started to wave its arms and legs. I have never seen anything so awesome in my life.
Sue did tell us that I am farther along than originally thought, and will be due approximately June 2nd. My next appointment is in 4 weeks, and I am hoping that we can get an idea of the sex of the baby. I REALLY hope its a girl! Right now, the baby is the size of a fig. I love figs, especially on pizza, so this week I’ll have to avoid them or I’ll feel funny. I had to give so much blood yesterday for prenatal testing that I felt pretty weak after. Initally, we weren’t going to do the testing because I wasn’t sure how I’d feel if there were negative results. There is no history in either of our families of any genetic or mental defects (other than insanity, LOL) so I don’t expect to see anything, but it did give me something else to worry about. In the end, Tim and I decided to go for it; we’d rather know ahead of time so we can prepare.
In other news, we’re trying to sell the blasted Jeep, and so far have not been very successful. I ended up listing it on Vehix as well as craigslist.com, so maybe that will bring in a buyer so I can pay off my credit card. Joy of joys, the new doors finally arrived and will be installed shortly! They’re going to make our house look fabulous.
LOL of the week:
