cheese and crackers

Today I went to my OB-GYN office to get the regular flu shot. My arm is a little sore but otherwise I feel okay. I’m on the list to get the H1N1 flu shot as soon as it arrives, but they aren’t sure when that will be. It was supposed to be in yesterday. While I was in the waiting room I ran into my friend Erin who is also expecting! Her due date is February 17th, and she’s having a boy! Its funny, we both knew when the other was pregnant before we actually announced it. I swiped a Pregnancy magazine from the waiting room that had lots of fun things to check out.

Tomorrow I will be 9 weeks pregnant. I feel lucky that so far I’ve not experienced the usual ‘morning sickness’. I’ve had some nausea but haven’t had to throw up once. If I eat some crackers or a piece of toast when I feel icky I usually feel much better. My favorite crackers are the Premium Saltines and the low-fat version helps a lot, and tastes good with cheese. :) I feel tired all of the time, but I can handle that; it brings me back to my days of insomnia (from age 4 to 24, seriously)

kidney beans <3

A friend, Heather, took these almost every week! I’ve been reading her blog for the whole pregancy and now that I am actually pregnant, its nice to know whats up ahead. She’s a little overdue now, but hopefully Lilly will be here soon!

8 Week Survey

How far along? 8 weeks and 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: I think I’ve actually gained 1.5 lbs; I’m figuring its mostly due to the fact that I am actually eating breakfast every day

Maternity clothes? no, all my clothes still fit the same

Stretch marks? no

Sleep: crummy crummy crummy. I wake up every few hours, and it takes me a long time to fall back asleep.

Best moment this week: last Tuesday when I got my lovely picture of my bean :)

Movement: nothing yet, won’t be for awhile.

Food cravings: I’m not craving anything so much as extremely open to suggestion. If someone mentions chinese food, I want chicken chow mein.

Gender: we won’t know for awhile; right before Christmas!

Labor Signs: n/a

Belly Button in or out? ha ha its an innie for now.

What I miss: taking Ambien to help me sleep. :(

What I am looking forward to: finding out the sex so that I can start decorating the nursery!

Weekly Wisdom: no wisdom other than to eat crackers when you feel nauseous! I haven’t had to throw up at all.

Milestones: I saw the baby’s heartbeat on the sonogram last week!

Beads and bobbles

Tim and I finally got our new tv (42″ HDTV, which is a little bigger than I wanted, but Tim is a techie geek) and the tv stand. We’ve moved the new couch into our front room and this is what it looks like now:

My library is still that nasty primary color…I want to paint it NOW!!

Our bedroom is pretty much finished, with the exception of the doors. I think they are arriving soon so we can install them.

This is the birdcage jewelry holder I bought from Urban Outfitters. I love that all my pretty necklaces can decorate the wall instead of lying around on my dresser! :)

Look what I made!

That’s right! Tim and I made a baby and I’ve got photographic evidence. :) The baby is in between the tiny + signs.

We found out officially on September 23, but we wanted to wait until I’d seen the heartbeat on the sonogram before announcing it. Today was the day! I teared up when I saw the little heartbeat; it looked like an eye winking at me.

Something to consider…

SURPRISINGLY delicious, and it does have a good bacon-y flavor. Give it a try!
