Spider-Pope

Anyone else see last night’s episode of The Colbert Report?? Frackin’ hilarious.

Here’s a few pics from Adrienne & Justin’s wedding:

The wedding was awesome! The food at the reception was good, and the wine served (Satori Cellars) was delicious. The Gilroy winds made it a little chilly but Adrienne had given the bridesmaids J. Crew sweaters as part of our gifts so we were okay for a while. I cried a bit during my speech. I had a speech typed out, but as soon as I had the mic I ended up just saying what was on my mind. I think it went over okay. :)

The house projects had been neglected, but last weekend finally got back on track. All of the grasscloth wallpaper has been removed from the living room walls, and the wall above the fireplace has the wall texture applied. The glue for the wallpaper still needs to be removed, but it already looks much better. In what will eventually be a nursery, the carpet was removed and Tim has been slowly scraping the padding off. The previous owners were morons and glued the padding directly to the hardwood floor. Tim has had to use a lot of muscle and Goo Gone to remove it. The floor underneath will need a new coat of varnish when its all done, but otherwise it looks great.

Our bedroom is almost finished; we just need to get the baseboard and crown moulding. That project will probably get done slowly; its not the highest priority right now. The guest room has almost nothing done, except for the closet doors and floor. We still need to paint it and make a screen for the window. No doors done yet, although I think we’re going to try and get that done in the next month or so.

Nothing has been done to my library. All my books are still in their boxes, although I made Tim move them from the garage into the library. Its starting to get cold and I don’t want my books to ruin. :(

A few birthday pics

I had a fantastic time at my birthday celebration last Saturday. We went to Left Bank in Santana Row for dinner, and our waiter, Michael, was awesome! I recommend checking this place out, especially for their amazing fondue de fromages. OMG! For dessert, we had Luscious Lemon and Berry Berry cupcakes from Icing on the Cake. After dinner, a few friends and I headed to Trials Pub in Downtown San Jose. Unfortunately, around 1:30am the guys decided that it would be AWESOME to head to La Victoria for burritos and Orange Sauce. Damn vegetarianism. I miss orange sauce, although I don’t like that there is mayonaisse in it (EWW EWW EWW). But, its been almost 2 years and I’m not going to quit now. Damn.

Made in Ibiza

I’ve been spending much time lusting after the $2300 Balmain studded heels and fondly remembering the gorgeous Burberry Prorsum platforms from 2 years ago that I fell in love with. Luckily for my bank account and credit cards, I found these Jeffrey Campbell heels at Nordstrom last weekend. :D Its the best parts of both shoes! I can’t wait to rock ‘em at my birthday dinner on Saturday.

A certain banana

I’ve been a bit remiss updating the blog this past week, sorry!

For those of you who may not have heard, we moved into our house!! :D Its been a hard road to get here, but we were able to make it through without killing anyone (or eachother). Last Wednesday, our friends Justin, Adrienne and baby Belle came to help. Justin and Tim did all the heavy lifting but Adrienne and I carried all my shoes. :P
Its been almost a week since the move and our house is still filled with boxes. :( Our kitchen stuff is pretty much all done, but my books can’t be unpacked for awhile. UGH!
Here’s a pic of our former bookcase, now our barware/wine rack:

Timmy also managed to get the fountain working yesterday! It had some broken hoses but he fixed them and now look:

Woo-hoo!! :)
