Finished ‘The Girls’ Guide to Hunting and Fishing’ by Melissa Bank. It started out really well, but the last fifty pages or so were stilted and uneven. Kind of rushed through the ending because I stopped caring. I think I’m in a reading rut.

Twos-Day

Not a very exciting day. Meeting at work about our new marketing strategies (company Facebook, Twitter and now a blog, all run by yours truly) and took care of a few errands.

Picked up my glasses today. They probably make me look geeky. Can’t tell myself, I’ve never worn glasses before and I’m afraid to ask anyone.

On the plus side, the sexy librarian fantasy is MUCH easier to perpetuate…

Micaela and I are going to the Jenny Lewis concert on Thursday. I didn’t like three songs off Acid Tongue so I’m hoping she performs more from Rabbit Fur Coat.

Our wedding anniversary came and went (four years, woot woot) and we had a wonderful weekend. I highly recommend checking out Castello di Amorosa if you are in Napa Valley. It was beautiful, interesting and the tour was informative. And the wine is fantastic! We tasted 13 of their varietals and I fell in love with the Pinot Bianco, Gioia and La Fantasia. I liked everything so much, we bought two bottles and I decided to join the Wine Club. Two bottles every month…want to come over and help us drink it?

I finished ‘Skylight Confessions’ by Alice Hoffman and I have to say, not her best work. It started out interesting but it felt rushed. The characters were not relateable or even plausible. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good book to read?

A Book to Avoid

‘Veronica’ by Mary Gaitskill.

I finished it a few days ago and forgot to mention how BORING it was. Not only did I not care about a single character (including the narrator, Alison) but the story was convoluted, pointless and tried to hard.

FAIL. Do not recommend.

No exciting news…

The anniversary of our first date was May 9th. We’ve been together for six years now. Thursday is our four-year wedding anniversary. We bought each other bikes as gifts. I am the proud owner of a pink cruiser.

The traditional gift is flowers. What?! Tim already gives me flowers.

ACHOOOO!

I’m on my second box of Kleenex (the kind with lotion). Its hard to be green when you have an allergy attack [insert obvious + disgusting joke here].

I have asthma (not the kind where I get random attacks, the kind that requires an inhalator twice a day, every day for the rest of my LIFE) so lacking the ability to breathe out of my nose is seriously inhibiting. Eating has become a challenge, but apparently one I am willing to overcome because I ate 4 pieces of chocolate AND a lemon bar today.

In other news, my boss decided to put me on the schedule more but neglected to check if I was actually available to work those days. I wasn’t. Now I can’t do anything about it. FML.

Reading ‘Contact’ by Carl Sagan for what is perhaps the thirtieth time (give or take).

Grrrr….

I still have a headache and my boss said something hurtful to me today. :( BAD MONDAY.

I am, however, pretty excited for tonight’s episode of ‘House’. I am not happy that I will have to wait until September-October before Hugh Laurie graces my television with his presence.

On Saturday I did a photoshoot with my friends and their new baby, Belle. Here’s a few photos:

Anyway…let’s hope the rest of this week is better.

Anyone know when this is coming to U.S. theatres?
